Our rehearsals normally start with a quick warm up to get us in the mood before we tackle a variety of pieces in 4-part harmony. These could be jazz/swing, musical theatre, or from a wide range of contemporary or classical genres. We do not set out to do the big oratorio works, as there are many other choirs already doing these well, but our repertoire could be taken from anywhere else, as long as we enjoy singing it. The members are involved in the selection of music to ensure that we all enjoy rehearsing and performing.

We have singers with varying levels of experience, from absolute novice to professional. Sight reading, though useful, is not essential as we will €œnote bash€ as required to help everyone to learn their parts. If you are not a brilliant sight reader, it is also useful to look at music between rehearsals to help get the notes in your head and we are currently working on uploading audio files for individual parts to support learning.

We rehearse every Monday evening throughout the year from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. After being based in Camberwell for a number of years, our new rehearsal space (from September 2016) is:

Mostyn Road Methodist Church
Corner of Mostyn Road and St Lawrence Way
